A series of tornadoes ripped across central and northeast Wisconsin on the
evening of June 7, 2007, leaving a path of destruction visible from space.

This image of the track of one of those tornadoes was captured on June 9,
2007, by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA's
Terra satellite. The tornado track is the diagonal line running through the
dark green, forested area, just left of the center of the image.

The path torn through this densely wooded area stands out quite clearly in
the satellite image, as tens of thousands of trees were leveled by the
devastating funnel cloud.

One of the tornadoes to strike the area was given an F-3 rating by the
National Weather Service, classifying it as a "strong" tornado that causes
severe damage and has wind speeds between 158 and 206 miles per hour.

once thought to be lifeless, Mars probably had water lots of it

Scientist Says Mars Once Had Oceans
By Dave Mosher

(June 14) - Since 1991, planetary scientists have floated the idea that Mars once harbored vast oceans that covered roughly one-third of the planet. Two long shore-like lips of rock in the planet's northern hemisphere were thought to be the best evidence, but experts argued that they were too "hilly" to describe the smooth edges of ancient oceans.

Hubble Detects first Direct Measurements of Atmosphere on World Around another Star

Hubble has discovered more information about a planet outside our solar system.

Students will
(E.O.A.S1) Compare and contrast the star in this system to that of our sun
(E.O.A.S2) CCompare and contrast the planet Earth with this planet
(E.O.A.S.3) How much % of the Sun's light is reflected back into space? Why is this important?

Saturn's Moon Titan amazing seas

Long hypothesizes to have a soupy primordial atmosphere possibly like our Earth once had, scientists are learning more about Titan. In 2005 the Huygens probe landed on Titan and returned the first surface images. Now there seems to be a Liquid Sea on Saturn's Titan. Astrobiologists are interested in the possibility of some sort of life on the moon

"The sirens have gone off before many a time, but the tornado would go over or around the town" she says. " That's why so many people got hurt . That's why so many people stayed home. Nobody thought it was going to hit."
